License for Import of Spirit and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL)

There are no separate licences required to import Spirit and IMFL, the dealer possessing manufacturing licence of IMFL & spirit can import Spirit and IMFL. The wholesaler vendor who possesslicence for wholesale of IMFL can import IMFL finished goods only.

8	Validity of approval	Permission to import is granted by issuing import permits to the licence holder for a period not exceeding 15 days. Permission to Export is granted by issuing export permits to the licence holder for a period not exceeding 30 days.
9	Renewal/Extension	There is no renewal of import permit however, extension is granted twice by the Commissioner of Excise upon application not more than 15 days before and after the expiry of import permit upon payment of fees applicable.

4		The Submitted application is scrutinized by the Dealing Hand and submitted to incharge of the Unit, the Unit incharge then inspects the application and issues challan for the payment of prescribed fees. The incharge then submits the application online to the Head office for further necessary action	2 days
5	Department	The Dealing hand at Head office then further scrutinize the application and forward to the concern superintendent for verification. The superintendent after verification submits the application to Assistant Commissioner for Approval	2 days
